Kabbalat Shabbat Services

November 2, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:45 pm

We are all horrified and heartbroken to learn of the appalling synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh last Saturday morning during Shabbat worship. We mourn the loss of innocent lives and pray for a refuah shleimah for the injured.  With our neighbors we will raise our voices in prayer and celebrate the joy of Shabbat. That is how we respond:  we live our best lives Jewishly, in our community, and in our Synagogue.  We gather to welcome Shabbat on this special #SolidarityShabbat for Likrat Shabbat on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 5:30PM. Enjoy refreshments, visit with friends and transition from the work week. At 6:05PM we will enjoy Kabbalat Shabbat Services.  Together, we will create holiness in a time and space that has been desecrated by hatred and bigotry. We will stand with our brothers and sisters across the nation. We will reclaim Shabbat, showing that we will not be intimidated in our houses of worship.
In the face of hatred, we will forge understanding;
In the face of violence, we will build peace;
In the face of bigotry, we will breed tolerance;
In the face of discrimination, we will seek justice;
In the face of darkness, we will spread light.
