4th Friday: Erev Shabbat – A Simple Shabbat Service

February 25 @ 6:05 pm - 7:15 pm

As we are taught, on Shabbat we try to become attuned to holiness in time.  Temple Beth Israel offers these varied, inspiring, joyful, and soulful Shabbat worship experiences so that we can share in that holiness together.  All services can be accessed both in person in the Lorge Sanctuary or via our livestream.

4th Friday: Erev Shabbat – A Simple Shabbat Service

When I observe Shabbat, I feel the presence of the Divine (Ibn Ezra, Siddur Sefard)

This simple service offers a chance to pray the Shabbat liturgy, surrounded by our community and accompanied by piano or guitar.  This Service includes a story, sermon, or teaching. Fourth Fridays begin with Likrat Shabbat nosh at 5:30 pm (canceled this month due to COVID), followed by Services at 6:05 pm. During this Shabbat Service, we observe the yahrzeits of Rabbis Mendelsohn and Lorge, both of blessed memory.  May their memories be for blessing.
