Sisterhood Temple Beth Israel strives to be a welcoming, inclusive, multi-generational group of women dedicated to serving our membership, our Temple, our community, and the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ).
Sisterhood is changing to keep pace with how women have been changing. Sisterhood attracts women of all ages, backgrounds, and lifestyles. Our varied interests are reflected in the diversity of programs we create and in the scope of causes we support. Sisterhood is opening doors for our members and our congregation, in our community and beyond.
We will celebrate T’fillot Nashim, women’s prayers, at the Kabbalat Shabbat service on Friday, May 14 at 6:05 PM. This service puts an emphasis on women’s roles in worship. We are grateful to Rabbi Weinberg and to our Co-Chaplains, Ilene Klegon and Debbi Kohl, for developing this special event. The D’var Torah will be delivered by Rabbi Ellen Dreyfus, sister of Rabbi Weinberg, and three Sisterhood members will speak. The service will include Sisterhood’s tribute to Rabbi and Jody Weinberg. The Zoom link will be posted in the Temple eBlast during that week.
