Book of Isaiah 101

Sunday, May 7, 2017

Engraved on the Isaiah Wall, opposite the United Nations building in New York City: “Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they know war anymore.” (2:4) Isaiah was the most thoughtful, as well as the most ardent patriot, among the Prophets, always defending Israel and imploring forgiveness for its sins. We will explore the contradictions between mercy and justice on the page and in our own lives. Each week this adult education class will read, discuss and try to unravel the meaning and message of a portion of the Book of Isaiah. It is open to all TBI members and is structured to be accessible and fun for all. No prior experience reading Torah is required.
